秋天 arrives, and with it, the time for harvesting tea leaves. The process is called "plucking," and it's a labor-intensive job that requires great care. Only the top two or three young leaves are picked from each branch, as they are the most tender and flavorful. This careful selection ensures that the tea retains its delicate flavor and aroma.
After plucking, the freshly harvested tea leaves are spread out in a controlled environment to dry. This process is crucial in preventing mold growth and preserving the natural flavors of the tea. It's during this time that some teas undergo additional processing steps such as rolling or oxidation to enhance their unique characteristics.
Once dried, teas can be further processed into various forms like loose-leaf, compressed cakes (like pu-erh), or rolled balls (like gunpowder). The different shapes allow for distinct brewing experiences while maintaining their respective flavor profiles.
In China, there exists a rich tradition of appreciating teas through ceremonies like Gongfu Cha (), which emphasizes careful brewing techniques to bring out subtle nuances in taste and aroma. Tea connoisseurs meticulously select specific teaware materials like Yixing clay ware or porcelain cups to complement both the brews' colors and fragrances.
The journey of Chinese tea culture has been long-standing since ancient times when Emperor Shennong accidentally discovered it around 2700 BC by observing bees collecting nectar from Camellia sinensis plants without harming them—henceforth establishing an enduring relationship between humans & nature through this beverage of harmony & balance.
Tea has become an integral part of daily life across cultures worldwide; not just limited but also extended beyond mere drinking purposes due to its multifaceted role: social bonding over shared moments at family gatherings; spiritual nourishment within religious rituals; artistic inspiration behind countless works inspired by beauty found within these green leafy wonders!
